Patna: In a thrilling encounter of the Adhikari Madan Mohan Prasad Memorial Patna District Senior Division Cricket League, organised under the aegis of the Patna District Cricket Association, Amar CC defeated City Student Club by a narrow margin of two runs.
The match, played at the local Genn Nex Cricket Ground, saw Amar CC win the toss and elect to bat first. The team was bowled out for 158 runs in 31.4 overs. In reply, City Student Club were dismissed for 156 runs in 32 overs. Aryaman Singh of the winning side was adjudged Player of the Match.
Batting first, Amar CC posted 158 runs in 31.4 overs. Tapish Kumar top-scored with 48 runs off 58 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes. Abhishek Kumar contributed 35 runs from 31 deliveries, while captain Ravi Shankar added 15 runs. The team also received 19 runs in extras before being all out for 158.
For City Student Club, Prajjwal was the most successful bowler, claiming four wickets for 28 runs in seven overs. Aditya Prakash picked up two wickets, while Sudhanshu Jay Ranjan and Rahul Kumar took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 159, City Student Club made a promising start but came under pressure after losing wickets at regular intervals in the middle order. Anshul Raj played a brisk knock of 46 runs from 34 balls, including eight fours and a six. Kartik Raj Yadav scored 22 runs, while Baljeet Singh Bihari added 20. Despite their efforts, the team was bowled out for 156 runs in 32 overs, falling just two runs short of victory.
For Amar CC, Aryaman Singh delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking three wickets for just 17 runs in seven overs. Deepak Kumar also claimed three wickets for 23 runs in five overs, while Rishabh Bhardwaj picked up two wickets, playing a key role in the team’s narrow win.
