Patna: East Champaran secured a convincing five-wicket victory over Jehanabad in the quarter-final of the BCA Men’s Senior One-Day Trophy 2025–26 played at the Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna, booking their place in the semi-finals.
Batting first, Jehanabad were restricted to 165 for 10 in 50 overs. Suraj Satpal Rathore scored 24 runs off 36 balls, hitting two boundaries, while Saurav Dinesh Kumar added 17 runs from 49 deliveries with one four. Captain Vishwas Mithilesh Singh contributed 18 runs off 17 balls, including a four and a six. Gautam Manoj Bhagwat remained unbeaten on 11 runs from 47 balls.
For East Champaran, Mani Kaushal Kant delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming four wickets for 23 runs in his 10 overs. Mohammad Faisal Gani picked up two wickets for 27 runs in 10 overs, while Tunna Pannalal Kumar also took two wickets, conceding 41 runs in his quota. Ashutosh Kumar returned figures of one for 39 in 10 overs, and captain Sakibul Mannan Gani took one wicket for 32 runs in nine overs. Rajesh Ram Sahani bowled one over and conceded just two runs.
Chasing a modest target of 166, East Champaran reached 166 for five in 33.2 overs to seal the win. Yusuf Jahangir Nadeem played a crucial knock of 49 runs off 80 balls, striking seven boundaries. Ritik Ashok Ranjan scored 24 runs from 29 balls with four fours, while captain Sakibul Mannan Gani added 23 runs off 30 balls, including three fours and a six. Sameer Akhtar contributed 12 runs from 15 balls with two boundaries, and Gopi Krishna chipped in with 11 runs off 15 deliveries.
In the closing stages, Ashutosh Kumar remained unbeaten on 26 runs from 18 balls, hitting three fours, while Anupam Subodh Kumar stayed not out on four runs off 14 balls.
For Jehanabad, Gautam Manoj Bhagwat was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for 26 runs in six overs. Jitin Kumar Yadav claimed one wicket for 48 runs in 9.2 overs, and Raju Mahendra Yadav took one wicket for 31 runs in six overs. Vishwas Mithilesh Singh conceded 14 runs in two overs, Shashi Raju Shekhar gave away 12 runs in two overs, and Suraj Satpal Rathore bowled eight overs for 30 runs.
With this victory, the East Champaran men’s senior team advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament.
