Bihar vs Manipur Ranji Trophy Plate Group final in progress

Patna: Bihar further strengthened their commanding position on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Plate final at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday. After dismissing Manipur for 264 in their first innings, Bihar reached 84 for 2 in their second innings at stumps.
Earlier, Bihar had piled up a massive 522 in their first innings, built on authoritative centuries from skipper Sakibul Gani (108) and wicketkeeper-batsman Bipin Saurabh (143), which placed the team firmly in control of the contest.
For Manipur, Rex was the standout bowler in the first innings, claiming four wickets for 117 runs from 32 overs.
In reply, Manipur were bowled out for 264 in 89.1 overs. Ronald M anchored the innings with a patient 79, while Jotin (25), Ullenai (26) and Johnson (34) made useful contributions. However, the rest of the batting line-up failed to convert their starts.
Bihar’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings. Suraj Kashyap impressed with figures of 3 for 34 from 16.1 overs, including five maidens. Himanshu Singh and Prashant Kumar Singh picked up two wickets each, while Khalid and Akash Raj claimed one apiece.
In the second innings, Bihar made a steady start. Mangal Mahrour scored 31, while Ayush Loharuka was dismissed for 1. Unbeaten at the close were Piyush Kumar Singh on 32 and Akash Raj on 12, with their partnership providing stability as Bihar moved closer to a decisive advantage.
