Patna: Bihar Women Under-15 team suffered a comprehensive 10-wicket defeat against Bengal in an Elite Women’s Under-15 One-Day Trophy match played at the St Xavier’s KCA Cricket Ground in Thiruvananthapuram.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Bihar were bundled out for a modest 53 in 30.1 overs. In reply, Bengal chased down the target without losing a wicket, reaching 57 in just 6.5 overs.
For Bihar, Tejaswani was the top scorer with 23 off 44 balls, including three fours. Anu Singh Kushwaha contributed 13 runs from 26 deliveries, while Sweeti Kumari remained unbeaten on one down the order. However, the lack of meaningful partnerships proved costly, which was reflected in the low total.
Bengal’s bowling attack was led by Snigdha Bag and Ariktha Manna, who claimed three wickets apiece and consistently checked Bihar’s scoring rate. Salma Khatun and Remondina Khatun also bowled tight spells, picking up one wicket each.
Chasing the small target, Bengal opener Shaila Senapati played an aggressive knock of 34 off 23 balls, striking eight fours. She was well supported by Sneha Mahato, who scored an unbeaten 16 from 18 balls, as Bengal sealed an emphatic victory.
