Chilli Egg is an Indo- Chinese appetiser which is one of a kind and a really fan favourite of most of the households and has a special name in the hall of fame of different cuisines.
Ingredients
- 3- 4 eggs (Hard Boiled)
- 2 medium sized onions chopped julian
- 3 medium sized capsicum chopped julian
- 2 finely chopped chillies
- Finely chopped garlic cloves (3-4)
- Finely chopped garlic
- ½ tbsp chilli powder
- ½ tbsp coriander powder
- ½ tbsp soy sauce
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp green chilli sauce
- ½ tbsp vinegar
- 1 cup cornflour mixed water
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
- 5 tbsp oil
- Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Method:
- For the recipe use a wok and add the oil. Wait till the oil is hot enough to add the ingredients
- Once the oil is hot add the chopped garlic and ginger along with the chillies.
- Wait till the garlic and ginger till golden brown and then add the finely chopped onion
- Fry the onion till they turn golden brown, add sallt according to taste .
- Once the onions are fried, add the capsicum and mix well with the onions and continue frying them at least for another 4 to 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Once the capsicum has softened add the chilli powder and coriander powder and stir well
- Add the soy sauce, stir well.
- Then add the tomato sauce, green chilli and red chilli sauce and stir well on low flame for 2 minutes.
- Add the cup of water mixed cornflour and cook on low flame for 3 minutes with lid on
- In another frying pan fry the eggs (The eggs should be well coated in cornflour before frying)
- Once the eggs are fried and ready, add the same in the gravy mix
- Serve chilli egg with some freshly cut coriander leaves as garnish
