SpiceJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Patna Due to Mid-Air Technical Glitch

By Neeraj Kumar

Patna: A potential aviation disaster was narrowly avoided on Tuesday morning due to the quick thinking of a SpiceJet pilot. Flight number SG2950, which had taken off from Delhi for Shillong, was forced to make an emergency landing at Patna airport after a technical glitch was detected mid-air. The incident left the 80 passengers on board shaken but ultimately relieved after the safe landing.

The flight departed Delhi at 7:03 am and was scheduled to land in Shillong at 10:05 am. While en route, the pilots noticed a crack in the cockpit windshield when the plane was flying over Patna, approximately 1 km from the airport. Recognising the potential risk, the pilots immediately contacted Patna Air Traffic Control (ATC) and were granted priority clearance for an emergency landing.

Thanks to the pilot’s composure and swift action, the aircraft landed safely, averting a major accident. The passengers expressed relief and praised the crew for their professionalism in handling the situation.

OAG Flight View confirmed the incident on its website, stating that flight SG2950 from Delhi to Shillong had been cancelled. SpiceJet has arranged an alternative flight from Patna to ensure the passengers reach their destination.
