Bhojpuri Actress Akshara Singh Receives Death Threat; Criminals Demand ₹50 Lakh Ransom

By Neeraj Kumar

Patna: Criminals have demanded a ransom of ₹50 lakh from Bhojpuri film actress Akshara Singh, issuing a death threat if she fails to comply. On November 11 at 11 pm, a call was made to her private number in which she was asked to pay the ransom. The very next day, on November 12, Akshara Singh left Patna for Mumbai. She had been in Patna to celebrate Chhath for the first time.

On Tuesday, Akshara Singh’s father, Vipin Singh, reported the incident to the Danapur police station. By Wednesday, police officers visited her residence at approximately 11 am to investigate. However, they have yet to uncover any leads in the case. The police are currently withholding further comments, stating only that the investigation remains ongoing.

When asked about security arrangements, Vipin Singh expressed frustration, stating, “We do not receive police protection; it is given only to government ministers.”

In her formal complaint to the Danapur police station, Akshara Singh recounted that she received the threatening calls on the night of November 11, between 12:20 and 12:21 am, from two different numbers. The callers initially hurled abuse at her before demanding ₹50 lakh within two days. They further threatened to kill her if she failed to pay.

The Danapur police have acknowledged receipt of Akshara Singh’s complaint and are investigating the matter.
