Preparations in Full Swing for the Renowned Sonpur Fair 2024

Patna: Preparations for the world-famous Harihar Kshetra Sonpur Fair 2024 have intensified. This year, the Sonpur Fair will commence on 13 November and conclude on 14 December. A vibrant array of cultural programmes is set to enliven this 32-day event, with the Tourism Department collaborating with other departments to finalise the schedule. Additionally, rates for all types of shops and theatres to be established at the fair have been determined.

Various departments will oversee cultural presentations throughout the event. Over the course of 32 days, the Tourism Department will present programmes on six days, the Department of Art, Culture and Youth on twelve days, the Saran District Administration on eleven days, the Information and Public Relations Department on two days, and the Crime Investigation Department on one day.

Tourism Department: Cultural performances by the Tourism Department will take place on 13, 16, 17, and 24 November, as well as on 13 and 14 December.

Department of Art, Culture and Youth: This department will host cultural presentations on 14, 22, 23, 27, and 30 November, and on 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, and 12 December.

Information and Public Relations Department: Programmes organised by the Information and Public Relations Department will be held on 28 and 29 November.

Crime Investigation Department: The Crime Investigation Department will oversee cultural programmes on 18 November.

In addition, cultural events will be managed by the Saran District Administration on the remaining days.

The Sonpur Fair holds a unique place of significance, and this year each day promises to be enriched with cultural activities. Plans are also underway for a book fair and a literary seminar, alongside expert-led discussions on key topics. A grand Ganga Aarti is being prepared, with other activities including painting and quiz competitions.

This year, artists from across the country will perform at the Sonpur Fair, lending the event an even greater grandeur. Visitors will be treated to a diverse blend of art, culture, and entertainment, with daily performances featuring dance, music, drama, and folk artistry by various departments.
