Patna: Madhya Pradesh triumphed over Bihar by 63 runs in their Senior Women’s T20 Trophy clash on Saturday, marking Bihar’s third consecutive defeat following two wins. Madhya Pradesh now tops Group E with 22 points from six matches, while Bihar holds fifth position with 8 points from five matches. Bihar’s final group match will be against Punjab on 28 October.
Playing at the KCA Cricket Ground in Mangalapuram, Trivandrum, Madhya Pradesh elected to bat first after winning the toss and posted a formidable 167 for four in 20 overs. Jinsi George led the innings with 49 off 45 balls, striking seven boundaries. PN Khemnar added 31 off 26 balls, hitting three fours and a six, while Pooja Vastrakar scored a quickfire 47 from 23 balls with five fours and three sixes. Sanskriti Gupta remained not out on 20, contributing to the solid total.
For Bihar, Tejaswi took 1 for 36, Apoorva Kumari 1 for 21, and Pragati Singh 1 for 25, with one run-out completing the wickets.
Chasing 168, Bihar managed only 100 for four in their 20 overs. Apoorva Kumari top-scored with 25 off 35 balls, including three fours and a six, and Yashita Singh contributed 32 off 43 balls, with a four and a six. Pragati Singh added 17 from 16 balls, while Niktya Kumari and Arya Seth finished unbeaten with 5 and 2 runs, respectively.
Madhya Pradesh’s bowling was spearheaded by Priyanka, who took 2 for 21, while Suchi Upadhyay and PN Khemnar each claimed a wicket, conceding 26 and 16 runs, respectively.
