Patna: On Monday, 21st October, Jesus and Mary Academy and Gravity High School secured wins in their respective matches at the All India Sukhdeo Narain Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament, held on the turf wicket of Jagjivan Stadium, Khagaul. Gravity High School claimed their second consecutive win, while Jesus and Mary Academy celebrated their first victory in two matches.
Pool A: Jesus and Mary Academy vs New BD Public School
Jesus and Mary Academy dominated their match against New BD Public School, winning by a comfortable margin of 92 runs, thanks to an outstanding all-round performance by Manjeet Kumar, who scored 63 runs and took 3 wickets. Anand Raj also contributed a vital 53 runs, while Aditya Kushwaha excelled with the ball, taking 4 wickets.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Jesus and Mary Academy posted a total of 173 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs. In response, New BD Public School was bowled out for 81 runs in 19 overs. Manjeet Singh was awarded the Player of the Match by the organising secretary, Bijoy Kumar Narain Chunnu.
Pool B: Gravity High School vs Raj Shiksha Niketan
In Pool B, Gravity High School defeated Raj Shiksha Niketan by 22 runs, with a superb 52-run innings from Parth (off 41 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes) and a brilliant bowling performance by Mukesh Yadav, who took 4 wickets.
Gravity High School chose to bat first after winning the toss and scored 145 for 7 in their 20 overs. Raj Shiksha Niketan’s Prakhar Gyan impressed with the ball, taking 4 wickets for just 19 runs. However, in reply, Raj Shiksha Niketan could only manage 123 for 9 in their 20 overs, with notable contributions from Lakshya Prakash (45 runs) and Monty Ram (20 not out). Mukesh Yadav of Gravity High School was named Player of the Match by State Panel Umpires Yatendra Kumar and Neeraj Kumar.
