Bihar Defeat Meghalaya by Eight Wickets in Women’s Senior T-20 Trophy Opener

Patna: In the opening match of the Women’s Senior T-20 Trophy held at the Sports Hub International Cricket Stadium in Trivandrum, Bihar defeated Meghalaya by eight wickets. Meghalaya won the toss and opted to bat first but were bowled out for 60 runs in 17.4 overs. In response, Bihar chased down the target, scoring 61 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 16 overs. Bihar’s next match is scheduled against Rajasthan on 20th October.

For Meghalaya, four players—M Lengdoh, Suriti, Ajima, and Rebel—were dismissed without scoring. Captain DD Dutta top-scored with 16 runs, while L Tamang added 9, Hajong 8, Ruby Chhetri 4, and Dayaka 5 runs. Bihar’s bowlers were impressive, with Apoorva Kumari taking 3 wickets, Pragati Singh claiming 2, and Arya taking 1 wicket. Additionally, four Meghalaya players were run out.

In Bihar’s innings, Preeti was dismissed after scoring 20 runs, and Apoorva Kumari was out for 1 run. However, Yashita Singh remained unbeaten with 26 runs, and Nikki was not out on 12, securing Bihar’s victory.
