Sharat Jain Memorial Bihar State Sub-Junior Chess Championship Kicks Off in Ara

Patna: The Sharat Jain Memorial Bihar State Sub-Junior Chess Championship, hosted by the Bhojpur District Chess Association under the auspices of the All Bihar Chess Association, began today at Maina Sundar Dharamshala in Ara. The event has attracted 130 players in the boys’ category and 36 in the girls’ category. Among them, 22 rated players are competing in the boys’ division and 8 in the girls’ division.

After the completion of two rounds, 28 players in the boys’ category and 8 in the girls’ category are tied at the top with two points each.

Ara Mayor, Smt. Indu Devi, officially inaugurated the championship by making the ceremonial first move. The event was graced by special guests, including Shri Shailendra Kumar Jain, President of Maina Sundar Dharamshala, Dharamshala in-charge Deepak Prakash Jain, Dhirendra Chandra Jain, Abhishek Jain, and Patron Shubhraj Soumya.

Nishi Jain welcomed the guests, while the stage was managed by Secretary Dr. Md Saif. Dr. K N Sinha presided over the event, and Dr. S K Rungta extended the vote of thanks. The championship is being overseen by International Arbiter Nand Kishore, with support from co-arbiters Shahid Hussain, Iqbal Alam, Ranjan Kumar Sinha, Birendra Kumar Upadhyay, and Nidhi Kumari.
