Patna: The residents of Patna are soon to receive a significant infrastructure upgrade. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to inaugurate the new road connecting JP Ganga Path to Ashoka Rajpath near Krishna Ghat on 3rd October. The remaining work on this vital link is being rapidly completed, with the approach road from JP Ganga Path to Ashoka Rajpath now nearly finished.

Minor finishing touches to the approach road leading to Ashoka Rajpath are expected to be completed within the next two to three days. On Wednesday, the old motor pump house in the area was demolished, and the new motor pump house, constructed by Bihar State Road Development Corporation (Bihar State Path Vikas Nigam), has already been put into operation to ensure uninterrupted water supply.

Bihar State Path Vikas Nigam’s Managing Director, Shirshat Kapil Ashok, inspected the ongoing construction from Krishna Ghat to Ashoka Rajpath on Wednesday. He instructed that all road safety measures on the approach road be completed within the next few days. The inspection was attended by the project’s General Manager, Arun Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Om Prakash Sinha, and engineers from the construction agency.

The new approach road from Krishna Ghat will connect near the double-decker flyover on Ashoka Rajpath. Drainage work along Ashoka Rajpath, as well as road construction at the junction where the approach road meets Ashoka Rajpath, is expected to be completed by the end of this month. Shirshat Kapil Ashok urged the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation to expedite the remaining road work to prevent any inconvenience for commuters. The double-decker flyover construction on Ashoka Rajpath is also being managed by the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation.

Once the new road is operational, it will significantly reduce traffic congestion for commuters travelling from Digha and Patna City to Ashoka Rajpath. It will also shorten travel times and provide easier access to key areas, including Mahendru, Khajanchi Road, Ramna Road, PMCH, and Patna University.
