Patna: BJP leader Shyam Sundar Sharma, also known as Munna Sharma, was murdered on September 9 in Patna, Bihar, due to personal enmity, according to Patna police. This statement was made following the arrest of Karan Kumar, a suspect in the case. Two other suspects remain at large, and the police are conducting an intensive search for them.
Munna Sharma was killed at 4:45 am on September 9. The incident occurred outside City Foods on the new road of Mangal Talab in Patna City. Sharma was sitting outside his house when assailants on a motorbike shot him.
The murder was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, which clearly shows three criminals arriving on a motorbike, shooting Munna Sharma as he sat at the entrance to his house, and then fleeing the scene.
The police revealed that the motorbike used in the crime was stolen from the Jakkanpur police station area on September 8, a day before the murder. The assailants used the stolen bike to carry out the killing the following morning.
“A suspect involved in the murder of BJP leader Munna Sharma has been arrested. The police are conducting continuous raids to apprehend the remaining criminals. The investigation is ongoing, covering all aspects of the case,” said Rural SP Roshan Kumar.
