Patna: A tragic incident occurred in the capital’s Patna City, where a nursing student allegedly committed suicide, causing a stir at the Lichchhavi Nursing Girls Hostel located in Guru Govind Singh Hospital. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Rajni Kumari, a resident of Islampur in Nalanda district.
Chaos ensued in the hostel, situated within the Guru Govind Singh Hospital campus, when the trainee nurse was found dead. Fellow students rushed her to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Upon receiving the information, police from Khajekala police station arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
While initial reports suggest suicide by hanging, the exact cause remains unclear. Prabhat Ranjan Saxena, the Khajekala Police Station officer, stated that the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been informed, and the truth will emerge following the post-mortem and forensic reports.
The police have recovered the deceased’s mobile phone and have notified her family. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be revealed after the police complete their inquiry.
