Patna: In the Kabaddi Boys Under-14 match of the Patna District School Sports Meet 2024-25, Gyan Niketan claimed the title by defeating Lohia Nagar Mount Carmel School by 3 points. In the Girls Under-17 category, Sheela High School, Aunta, secured the championship after a hard-fought match, beating Saint Joseph, Barh, by 1 point. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Sheela High School overcame Nathan International by 4 points, while Saint Joseph Convent, Barh, defeated Upgraded Middle School, Dariyapur, by 11 points to reach the final.
On the fourth day of the ongoing meet at Patliputra Sports Complex, Saint Karen’s Secondary School won the Volleyball Boys Under-19 title, defeating SANS, Narauli 25-17, 17-25, 25-22. In the semi-finals, SANS, Narauli had beaten Adarsh Vikas Vidyalaya 17-25, 25-21, 30-28, and Saint Karen’s Secondary School triumphed over BD Public School 25-18, 28-11 to reach the final.
In the chess competition for the Boys Under-17 age group, organised by the District Administration of Patna under the aegis of the Sports Department of Bihar and the Bihar State Sports Authority, Kartikeya Nandan of Christ Church and Navi Sinha of Saint Karen’s were jointly leading with 5 points each after 6 rounds. Meanwhile, Nirmal Ashish Sinha and Saksham Raj of Shriram School were in second place with 4.5 points.
Om Prakash, District Sports Officer, Patna-cum-Organising Secretary, announced that the prize distribution and closing ceremony will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m., where medals and trophies will be awarded to the winners of various events.
