Patna: In the under-17 boys’ basketball category of the Patna District Level School Sports Meet 2024-25, St. Michael High School triumphed over St. Mary School, Masaurhi, with a score of 27-9. In the girls’ category, Litera Valley School emerged victorious, defeating St. Joseph Convent, Jethuli, 15-7 to claim the championship.
The five-day district-level school sports meet, organised by the Patna district administration under the Annual Sports Programme 2024-25, was held under the aegis of the Sports Department, Government of Bihar, and the Bihar State Sports Authority. In the under-14 boys’ basketball category, Modern International School defeated St. Michael High School 19-6 to secure the championship on Tuesday.
In the Kho-Kho matches held at Patliputra Sports Complex, Government Women Charkha Madhya Vidyalaya, Patna City, clinched double titles. They defeated Gyan Niketan School by 2 points in the boys’ under-14 category and Mount Litera Zee School, Barh, by 3 points in the girls’ under-14 category. In the under-17 boys’ category, Residential D.N. School, Bihta, won against Government Higher Secondary School, Patna City, by 2 points, while in the girls’ category, Saint Teresa School, Bihta, defeated Saint Joseph High School, Jethuli, by 3 points. In the under-19 age group, Gyan Niketan School edged out M.A.A.S. Patna City by 2 points in the boys’ category, and B.N.R. Training School overcame R.P.S. Public School by 2 points in the girls’ category.
The winners of various events were awarded medals and trophies by Om Prakash, District Sports Officer-cum-Organising Secretary. Present on the occasion were Basketball Convenor Deepak Kumar, Kho-Kho Convenor Pankaj Kumar, Teachers Abhishek Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Abhilasha Pandey, Ashok Kumar, Clerk Kiran Kumar Jha, Dhirendra Paswan, Suraj Kumar, and other dignitaries.
