Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has conducted a comprehensive survey of all the apartments in the city, identifying a total of 4,000 apartments and 74,000 flats. Among these, 26,000 flats were found to be without property tax registration and have not been assessed. The PMC is now issuing notices to the owners of these unregistered flats, warning that if self-assessment is not completed by September 31, they will face a fine along with a 100 percent penalty.

The PMC has urged residents to complete their property tax assessment on time to avoid penalties. In addition to tax collection, the PMC’s team is also conducting on-the-spot assessments of new properties. Both online and offline options are available for property tax assessment.

Residents can pay their property tax from home by visiting the official PMC portal at https://www.pmc.bihar.gov.in/. The portal also provides a Self-Assessment Form, which residents can use to assess and re-determine their property tax.

For those preferring in-person assistance, property tax assessment applications can be submitted at the counters in the PMC headquarters and zonal offices from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Payments can be made via POS machines, QR codes provided to corporation employees, or through digital payment platforms like Paytm, PhonePe, GPay, and other UPI options.
