Patna: The Bihar Ball Badminton Association has announced its annual calendar for the 2024-25 session, featuring a range of national and state-level competitions and training programs. The announcement was made by Prof. (Dr.) Nawal Kishore Yadav, President of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association and a member of the Bihar Legislative Council. He highlighted that the State Ball Badminton Association will soon recognize all District Ball Badminton Associations to promote the development of players and the sport itself.
Bihar’s ball badminton players have demonstrated outstanding performances in national competitions, earning numerous medals for the state. To further popularize the game in rural and urban areas, the association has devised a comprehensive action plan. State Ball Badminton Association Director Pawan Kumar Kejriwal emphasized that state-of-the-art infrastructure and training by international-level coaches will be provided to ensure that players can excel in national and international championships.
Secretary of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association, Gouri Shankar, outlined the major events scheduled for the year:
- 3rd Youth National Ball Badminton Championship (Men and Women): October in Motihari (East Champaran)
- Eastern Zone Inter-State Ball Badminton Championship (Men and Women): January 2025 in Hajipur (Vaishali)
- 30th Bihar State Sub Junior Ball Badminton Championship (Boys/Girls): September 6-8 in Darbhanga
- 31st Bihar State Junior Ball Badminton Championship (Boys/Girls): October 16-21 in Muzaffarpur
- 31st Bihar State Senior Ball Badminton Championship (Men/Women): November 29-December 1 in Madhepura
- 15th Dhyanchand Memorial Ball Badminton Championship (Boys/Girls): August 24-28 in Kilkari, Patna
- Sports Day One Day Ball Badminton Tournament (Men/Women): August 29 in Tarapur (Munger)
- Bihar State Gold Cup (Men/Women): December 27-29 in Naugachia
- Bihar State Association Cup (Men/Women): January 17-19, 2025 in Madhubani
In addition, several training camps will be held to prepare the teams:
- Sub Junior Team Training Camp: September 15-21 in Barh (Patna)
- Junior Team Training Camp: Last week of October in Siwan
- Senior Team Training Camp: Prior to the national tournament in Vaishali
These initiatives aim to boost the performance and visibility of Bihar’s ball badminton players at both national and international levels.
