Patna: India’s first nature library is being built in Patna, the capital of Bihar. This library, nearly complete, is located in Patna Zoo next to the nursery near the annexe. It is expected to become a significant attraction for wildlife enthusiasts.

Patna Zoo Director Satyajit Kumar stated that the library’s construction cost is approximately Rs 8 lakhs. The nature library is made entirely from Assam cane bamboo, providing an eco-friendly and unique appearance. The library will feature displays with information about all the zoos in the country.

In addition, the library will house books related to jungles, Patna Zoo, and the environment. It will host various programs for students, and a variety of plants will also be available. The Director emphasized that the library aims to raise awareness about the environment and wildlife.

“We hope that this initiative will inspire people to conserve natural resources and animals. The construction of this Nature Library is an important step not only for Patna Zoo but for the entire country, which will inspire us to connect with nature and preserve it,” he said.

The library will contain a collection of valuable information, including important books about animals, plants, and the environment. Designer table chairs made from Assam cane bamboo will provide seating.

Artisans from different states of Bihar have prepared the library in one and a half months. The library’s inauguration is set for this month, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Forest Environment Minister Prem Kumar in attendance. After the inauguration, visitors to Patna Zoo will have access to a unique and rich source of information about the environment and wildlife.

The Nature Library aims not only to provide information but also to emphasize the importance of environmental conservation and biodiversity. It will serve as an educational and informative venue for both children and adults.
