Patna: The Central Selection Board’s Constable Recruitment Exam in Bihar is scheduled to run from August 7 to August 28, 2024. This extensive exam will be conducted over six phases, each from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, accommodating 2.5 to 3 lakh candidates per phase. A total of 17,87,720 candidates have registered for the exam, which will take place at 545 centers across 38 district headquarters.
The state’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police have issued strict directives to ensure the examination is conducted free of malpractices. All district magistrates and Superintendents of Police have been instructed to maintain integrity throughout the process. Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) Chairman Jitendra Kumar emphasized that the exam dates are August 7, 11, 18, 21, 25, and 28.
To oversee the exam, the state government has appointed District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police as Exam Coordinators. The state’s Cyber Police Station and Economic Offenses Unit are monitoring social media for any suspicious activity. Local police have been directed to keep a close watch on hostels, lodges, coaching centers, and other areas where candidates may gather.
Extensive measures have been implemented to prevent malpractices, including CCTV surveillance with live feeds to the control room, and jammers installed in each exam room. Candidates are required to enter the examination centers between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM, where they will be searched. Admit cards and identity proof such as Aadhaar or voter ID are mandatory for entry. Additionally, thumb impressions, photos, and short videos of candidates will be taken for future identification.
No writing materials are allowed inside the examination centers; candidates will be provided with pens and question booklets for the OMR sheets. The council has warned against any attempts to seek external help via mobile or social media, urging candidates to report any suspicious contact to the nearest police or cyber police station.
This rigorous approach follows a previous incident on October 1, 2023, when the constable recruitment exam was canceled due to a paper leak, leading to the arrest of several individuals involved in cheating schemes. Consequently, all subsequent constable recruitment exams were also canceled, prompting the need for enhanced security measures this year.
