Patna: To commemorate Sports Day, the Sipahi Bhagat Sports Award Ceremony will be held on August 27 at Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, under the aegis of Sipahi Bhagat Sports Foundation. Director of Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, Aman Kumar, announced that women cricketers, cricket coaches, and male and female athletes from various sports in Patna district will be honored at the ceremony.
Aman Kumar highlighted that the Sipahi Bhagat Sports Foundation has a longstanding commitment to social work and started this award ceremony last year. The foundation has successfully organized numerous sports events over the years and will be hosting an inter-school kho-kho tournament this month.
He emphasized that women athletes in Bihar, including women’s cricket, are bringing pride to the state with their skills. Notably, Bihar’s Shreyasi Singh has participated in the Olympics. The foundation aims to inspire Bihar’s athletes through this honor, contributing significantly to the state’s future victories.
Aman Kumar also noted the increased international recognition of Indian athletes, from the Olympics to the Asiad, in recent years. He stated that Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, as an excellent educational institution, understands its social responsibility and significantly contributes to social work.
Paljinder Pal Singh, Principal of Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, shared that the institution plans to organize more sports events, including kho-kho, in the future. The goal is to foster a better sports environment not only within the school but throughout the state. He stressed that sports promote physical, social, and mental development. In line with this vision, the Sipahi Bhagat Foundation will continue to organize various sports competitions both on and off-campus and work towards the development of women athletes in Bihar.
