Patna: Bihar suffered a 105-run defeat against Uttar Pradesh in an Elite Group match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy at CAP Ground-2 in Puducherry.
Uttar Pradesh posted a formidable 377 for six in their allotted 50 overs after opting to bat first. In reply, Bihar managed 272 for eight in their 50 overs.
Uttar Pradesh post imposing total
Yash Vyas led Uttar Pradesh’s batting charge with a superb 113 off 94 balls, including nine fours and five sixes. Anmol Nausharan contributed 47 runs, while Shantanu Singh scored 88 and Yuvraj made 63. Arjun Tyagi remained unbeaten on 53, while Krishna Yadav was unbeaten without scoring.
Bihar bowling
For Bihar, Abhishek Kumar took one wicket for 84 runs in eight overs, while Satyam Kumar claimed one for 72 in 10 overs. Ayush Ravi Shankar bowled seven overs for 67 runs without taking a wicket.
Mohit Kumar was Bihar’s most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 52 runs in 10 overs. Vivek Anand went wicketless after conceding 58 runs in 10 overs, while Syed Mohammad Khizar claimed two wickets for 41 runs in five overs.
Bihar’s reply
Ayush Ravi Shankar scored 14 off nine balls, including two fours and a six. Ritvij Raj Singh made 50 off 67 balls, with seven fours and a six.
Anmol Kumar then struck 68 off 66 balls, hitting eight fours and three sixes. Captain Sarthak Jha scored eight off 22 balls, while Yuvraj Yadav contributed four off 15 deliveries.
Pushpam Raj played a fine innings of 59 off 65 balls, hitting nine fours and a six. Satyam Kumar scored 17 off 17 balls, including two sixes, while Vivek Anand made 12 off 20 balls with two fours.
At the end of the innings, Mohit Kumar remained unbeaten on 15 off 12 balls, while Abhishek Kumar was unbeaten on four off seven deliveries.
Uttar Pradesh bowling
For Uttar Pradesh, Shashank Yadav took one wicket for 42 runs in six overs and Ayan Akram claimed one for 63 in 10 overs. Ashish Balian went wicketless after conceding 27 runs in six overs.
Krishna Yadav took one wicket for 52 runs in 10 overs. Ayush Agarwal was the pick of the Uttar Pradesh bowlers, claiming three wickets for 45 runs in 10 overs, including one maiden.
Shantanu Singh took one wicket for 18 runs in four overs, while Bhavi Sharma claimed one for 11 in three overs. Arjun Tyagi bowled one over for eight runs without taking a wicket.
