Patna: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on September 15, 2026, launched the official website prepared under the ‘Drug-Free Bihar, Better Bihar, Growing Bihar’ campaign.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister extended his greetings and best wishes to everyone associated with the campaign and said that building a drug-free Bihar was not possible through government efforts alone. Active participation from every section of society and widespread public awareness were essential, he said.
Choudhary said the goal of a drug-free Bihar could be achieved only when people became aware of the harmful consequences of drug abuse and resolved to stay away from intoxicants.
He stressed the need for continuous awareness campaigns and the creation of a positive and healthy social environment to protect young people and future generations from addiction.
Through the Drug-Free Bihar campaign, efforts are being made to educate young people, students and the general public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage their participation in building a drug-free society. The official website will serve as an important platform for expanding awareness and public participation in this direction, he said.
The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of the participation of social and spiritual organisations in the campaign. In this connection, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was recently signed with Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya. He described the partnership as a positive and significant initiative towards making society drug-free.
Jeevika Didiyaan are also extending important support to the campaign. Choudhary praised their commitment to making Bihar ‘drug-free and better’ through their organisations.
He said the resolve to make Bihar drug-free was aimed at building a healthy, safe and empowered society. Complete prohibition is already in force in Bihar, and the government is taking action under the law against those involved in activities in violation of it.
The Chief Minister said the collective participation of society, alongside government efforts, would help make Bihar drug-free. He also praised efforts to transform the campaign into a people’s movement.
Choudhary appealed to all citizens to spread awareness against drug abuse, keep young people away from addiction and play an active role in building a drug-free Bihar.
