Patna, September 11, 2026: A total of 25,516 candidates will appear for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Combined Defence Services Examination-II, 2026 (CDS-II) and the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination-II, 2026 (NDA/NA-II) at 52 examination centres across Patna district on September 13.
All necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure the examinations are conducted in a clean, transparent, malpractice-free and peaceful manner.
Addressing a meeting of magistrates, police officers and centre superintendents deployed for the examinations at the local Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Kumar described the UPSC examinations as highly important and prestigious.
He stressed that there should be no lapse, however minor, at any stage of the examination process. All officials and staff were directed to remain fully alert and discharge their duties with utmost care, caution and coordination.
Intensive frisking of candidates
The Divisional Commissioner directed officials to conduct mandatory and thorough frisking of all candidates at the examination centres. Male candidates must be checked by male staff, while female candidates must be checked only by female staff.
As per the UPSC protocol, face authentication of every candidate must also be completed on time and in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
Jammers must remain fully operational
Reviewing the arrangements for mobile signal jammers at the examination centres, Rajesh Kumar instructed technical officials to ensure that all jammers remain fully operational throughout the examination.
The magistrates deployed at the centres will inspect the functioning of the jammers and submit reports on their status.
The Local Inspecting Officer has also been instructed to visit all examination centres on September 12 and conduct an on-site inspection of the arrangements.
Officials have been directed to ensure the availability of generators, public address systems, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, lighting and other essential facilities at every centre. Any shortcomings must be rectified immediately, with a report submitted to the Commissioner’s Office by the evening of September 12.
Mobile phones and electronic gadgets banned
Candidates will not be allowed to carry any unauthorised material inside the examination centres. Frisking will ensure that candidates do not possess mobile phones, cameras or other electronic gadgets.
The same restrictions will apply to invigilators and other staff deployed on examination duty. No mobile phone, camera or other electronic gadget will be permitted inside the examination centres.
Every person deployed at an examination centre must carry a valid identity card.
Main gates to close 30 minutes before examination
Commissioner’s Secretary Vinay Kumar Thakur provided details of the examination schedule and entry arrangements. He said the main gate of each examination centre will close 30 minutes before the scheduled start of each session.
Candidates have therefore been advised to carefully manage their time and reach their respective centres within the permitted entry period.
CDS Examination-II, 2026 schedule:
First session: 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Second session: 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
Third session: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
NDA and Naval Academy Examination-II, 2026 schedule:
First session: 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Second session: 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Special focus on candidates’ convenience and traffic management
Patna District Magistrate Kundan Kumar said the district administration had made all necessary arrangements for the smooth, transparent, malpractice-free and peaceful conduct of the examinations.
He directed all deployed magistrates and police officers to reach their respective examination centres by 7:00 am and perform their duties with full alertness.
Traffic officials were instructed to ensure smooth and uninterrupted movement across the city during the examinations so that candidates face no difficulty in reaching their centres.
The Municipal Corporation has also been directed to carry out special cleaning and fogging around all examination centres and their surrounding areas.
Strict compliance with face authentication protocol
UPSC representative observer Pawan Kumar said face authentication of every candidate was mandatory. He stressed that officials must ensure that no candidate undergoes face authentication twice.
He also called for strict compliance with the procedure and protocol prescribed by the UPSC during the face authentication process.
