Patna: Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi is facing a Rs 3 crore civil defamation suit filed by aviation company Dunes Aviation at a Gandhinagar court over social media remarks about its chartered aircraft . The suit alleges that Fatehi’s comments, in which she referred to the aircraft as a ‘Lego airplane’, severely damaged the company’s reputation and adversely affected its commercial operations . The matter is scheduled to be heard by the court of senior civil judge R Agarwal on September 25 .
According to the suit, the incident stems from a flight Fatehi took from Mumbai to Jaipur on December 14, 2025 . She and her team travelled aboard a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft, bearing call sign VT-NDA, which was chartered by a third party . During the journey, Fatehi recorded multiple videos from inside the aircraft and posted them on her Instagram account, which has more than 4.6 crore followers .
In the videos, Fatehi described the aircraft as a ‘miniature’, a ‘toy’ and a ‘Lego airplane’ . The company has taken particular exception to one video in which she is quoted as saying, ‘It’s a toy; this is what we get when you order an airplane from Amazon’ . Dunes Aviation has alleged that Fatehi’s comments were ‘reckless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis’ .
Claims of Business Impact
Dunes Aviation has claimed that the posts had a direct commercial impact on the company, leading to a 15-20 per cent decline in bookings along with an increase in cancellations . The company said that the comments resulted in ‘serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact’ .
In its defence, Dunes Aviation has stated that the aircraft in question was a standard business jet appropriately sized for the Mumbai-Jaipur route . The company said the aircraft was fully certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), airworthy, and being operated legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP) .
Legal Demands
Alongside Rs 3 crore in damages, the company has asked the court to order the immediate removal of social media posts containing the alleged remarks or references to the aircraft . It has also sought a public clarification from the actor . The suit was filed in April this year, and a legal notice issued to Fatehi reportedly remained unanswered .
The case is currently at the rejoinder stage, and the next hearing is scheduled before Senior Civil Judge R Agarwal on September 25 .
