2,027 Successful BPSC Candidates Receive Appointment Letters in Patna

Patna: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday handed over appointment letters to 2,027 candidates who cleared the 70th Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) at Bapu Sabhagar.

Congratulating the newly appointed officials, Choudhary said the occasion marked a historic moment in their lives. He said the distribution of such a large number of appointment letters at one time was a new record.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said public service was not merely a job but a means of serving people and promoting their welfare. The newly appointed officials would help open up avenues for the progress of people in different sections of society.

He said Bihar would progress faster if its officials worked with honesty, dedication and sensitivity. Building a ‘Developed India’ and a ‘Prosperous Bihar’ required collective efforts by the government, every section of society and every citizen. The role of young people in Bihar’s development was extremely important, and the newly appointed officials would be key participants in this journey.

Choudhary said 12 lakh government jobs and 50 lakh employment opportunities had been provided between 2020 and 2025. The government has set a target of providing jobs and employment opportunities to 10 million young people between 2025 and 2030. He said the government was continuously working to create more opportunities for employment and self-employment for young people.

The Chief Minister said Bihar’s budget had increased to Rs 3.47 lakh crore. To accelerate urban development, 12 new townships would be developed in the state, attracting large-scale investment. The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model would also be adopted in various sectors to give fresh impetus to Bihar’s overall development.

He said industrialisation was being given special priority in the state. Along with developing Bihar as a steel hub, the government was focusing on key sectors such as semiconductors, nuclear energy and food processing. Investment in these sectors would create wide-ranging employment opportunities and strengthen the state’s economy.

The Chief Minister said people were already benefiting from improved roads and infrastructure. Better road connectivity had made it possible to travel from Patna to Bodh Gaya in around one and a half hours.

Choudhary urged the newly appointed officials to discharge their responsibilities with complete honesty and dedication. Through the ‘Sahyog Programme’, he said, people’s grievances were being addressed within the stipulated period of 30 days.

He said the fundamental objective of every person entering government service should be to serve the people, earn their trust and continuously work for Bihar’s progress as a servant of the public.

Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dr Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Food and Consumer Protection Minister Ashok Choudhary, Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, Planning and Development Minister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Labour Resources and Migrant Workers Welfare Minister Arun Shankar Prasad, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Minister Lakhendra Kumar Raushan, Prohibition, Excise and Registration Minister Madan Sahni, Minority Welfare Minister Md Jama Khan, Sugarcane Industries Minister Sanjay Kumar, Social Welfare Minister Dr Shweta Gupta and Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash were among those present.

Other elected representatives, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Chief Minister’s Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Administration Department Secretary Md Sohel, additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries and secretaries of various departments, Patna District Magistrate Kundan Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma, other officials, successful candidates and their family members also attended the programme.
