Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday inaugurated the newly built Malahi Pakri Metro Station under the priority corridor of the Patna Metro Rail Project, marking the expansion of metro services in the state capital. Launching the Patna Metro Prepaid Smart Card and describing the development as a major milestone for Bihar’s urban transport sector, he said the government remains committed to providing a modern, safe and environmentally friendly public transport system.
The Chief Minister unveiled the foundation plaque and formally inaugurated the station by cutting the ribbon. He also inspected the newly constructed Malahi Pakri Metro Station and reviewed the facilities and operational arrangements.
To improve commuter convenience, Samrat Choudhary launched the Patna Metro Prepaid Smart Card, which will allow passengers to travel digitally without having to queue repeatedly for tickets.

After receiving the smart card, the Chief Minister travelled by Metro from Malahi Pakri Metro Station to Bhootnath Metro Station. During the journey, he described the metro expansion as a historic achievement for the state’s urban transport network.
He said the opening of Malahi Pakri Metro Station would provide faster, smoother and more convenient connectivity to millions of residents in eastern Patna. The expansion of metro services, he added, would help ease road traffic congestion, reduce travel time and make a significant contribution to controlling pollution.

Samrat Choudhary directed officials to ensure that the Patna Metro Rail Project is completed within the stipulated timeframe through speedy execution of the remaining work. He said the government’s objective is to develop an efficient public transport system in the capital to provide better commuting facilities for citizens, students, office-goers and the business community.

Sharma, senior administrative officials, officers associated with the Patna Metro Rail Project and a large number of local residents were present on the occasion.
