Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary presented a cheque of Rs 22.5 lakh to Commonwealth chess winner Md Reyan in Patna on June 6, 2026.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary presented a cheque of ₹22.50 lakh to Mohammad Reyan, winner of the Commonwealth Youth Chess Championship 2026 (Under-18), at a ceremony held at the Sankalp Hall in the Lok Sevak residence. The award was given to honour and encourage the young champion for his outstanding achievement.
The Chief Minister said that Reyan’s success serves as a source of inspiration for the youth of the state. He extended his heartfelt congratulations and wished him a bright future.
During the event, Reyan was also felicitated with a ceremonial shawl and a memento as a mark of recognition. His parents and coach were present on the occasion.
