Patna: Begusarai secured a thrilling three-run victory over Gaya in the second semi-final of the BCA Men’s T20 Trophy 2025–26, booking their place in the final. The match was played at Moinul Haq Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
After winning the toss, Begusarai opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 178 for 8 in their 20 overs. Captain Danish Alam led from the front with a solid 50 off 38 balls, striking eight boundaries. Atul Prakash added 31 from 23 deliveries, while Prithvi Raj (29 off 16) and Gulshan Kumar (29 off 17) provided valuable late acceleration. Wicketkeeper Murari Kumar chipped in with 23 runs.
For Gaya, Niku Kumar, Gaurav Kumar, Pritam Raj, Shivam Kishore, Mayank Pandey and captain Gautam Kumar picked up one wicket each.
Chasing 179, Gaya fell just short, being bowled out for 175 in 19.4 overs. Pritam Raj played an explosive knock of 47 off 22 balls, hitting four fours and four sixes. Gaurav Kumar contributed 44 from 23 balls, while Nartendra Prasad remained unbeaten on 32. Syed Mohammad Saifullah added 25 runs.
Begusarai captain Danish Alam delivered a match-winning performance with the ball, claiming five wickets for 22 runs in 3.4 overs. Sudhanshu Kumar took two wickets, while Saurav Kumar and Prithvi Raj picked up one each.
The final of the BCA Men’s T20 Trophy will see Begusarai face Patna on May 26 at Moinul Haq Stadium, with the match scheduled to begin at 3 pm.
