Varanasi: A 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp organised by the 91 UP Battalion NCC, Mughalsarai, concluded on Saturday with great enthusiasm and dignity in Varanasi. The camp was held from May 15 to May 24, 2026 at a local school, with hundreds of cadets from various schools and colleges participating in a wide range of military training and personality development activities.
During the camp, cadets received training in firing, drill, map reading, traffic control, disaster management, and specialised sessions conducted by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). They also attended SSB-oriented classes and leadership development programmes. The firing training remained the main highlight, offering cadets practical experience in weapon handling and marksmanship. Speech and debate competitions were also organised to enhance their communication and personality skills.
The training focused on instilling discipline, patriotism, self-confidence, leadership qualities, and a spirit of teamwork among the cadets. They were also taught how to adapt to challenging situations and changing weather conditions, along with techniques to face difficulties with resilience. Sports events, social awareness campaigns, and cultural activities further contributed to their all-round development.
On the final day, a grand cultural evening showcased the talents of the cadets through patriotic songs, group dances, dramas, and other performances. Their captivating presentations entertained officers and guests in attendance.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Commanding Officer Colonel Amar Singh urged cadets to incorporate the lessons and experiences gained during the camp into their lives. He stated that the NCC is not merely a platform for military training but a powerful institution for shaping disciplined, responsible, self-reliant, and nation-oriented citizens.
Several senior officials and staff members were present on the occasion, including AO Colonel Sukhbir Punia, Captain Dr Angad Prasad Tiwari, Captain Satyamurti Ojha, Captain Kamesh Singh, Chief Officer Ashok Tripathi, Second Officer Sachin Singh Yadav, Subedar Major J.B. Thapa, Training JCO Bhupendra Singh, BHM Bharat, Subedar Chandrashekhar, Havildar Sanjay Kushwaha, Naib Subedar Milan Thapa, and Om Gurung, along with the battalion’s PI and civilian staff.
Outstanding cadets were honoured at the end of the programme, which concluded formally with the national anthem.
