Trophy Unveiled for Baidyanath Prasad Memorial Under-13 Cricket Tournament

Patna: The prestigious trophy for the Baidyanath Prasad Memorial Under-13 Inter-School Cricket Tournament was unveiled on Saturday, 7 December, at a special ceremony held at the Patna Mayor’s office in Mauryalok premises. The unveiling was conducted by Patna Mayor Mrs. Sita Sahu in the presence of members of the Empowered Standing Committee and local councillors.

Shishir Kumar, the organising president and son of the late Baidyanath Prasad, provided details about the tournament, which will commence on 10 December at the Cricket Academy of Bihar ground. He announced that 16 teams from schools, academies, and institutions would compete in this knockout-style tournament, with matches played in a 25-over format. Panel umpires will officiate all games.

Santosh Tiwari, founder secretary of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, has been appointed as the organising secretary, while cricketer Sumit Sharma will serve as the tournament coordinator.

The tournament will feature two matches per day, culminating in a grand finale where the winning and runner-up teams will receive glittering trophies. Individual awards, including Player of the Match, Player of the Tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder, and recognition for emerging players, will also be distributed. Participants must present their birth certificates and Aadhaar cards for age verification at each match.
