Thieves Steal Valuables from Multiple Homes in Patna During Chhath Festivities

Patna: A major theft took place at the home of mobile shop owner Neelkamal Singh in Shishi Botal Gali, Mohar Tola, Dariyapur Gola, under the Kadamkuan police station area in Patna. Thieves broke the locks and stole jewellery worth around Rs 40 lakh and cash worth Rs 5 lakh from a locker. The incident came to light when Neelkamal returned home and discovered the lock on his main gate broken, with locks of all rooms also forced open. Inside, the furniture was ransacked, and the jewellery and cash from the cupboard were missing. The Kadamkuan police arrived shortly after being informed and began their investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage in the area.

Neelkamal, who runs a mobile shop in Bakarganj, had gone with his family to visit relatives in Daldali for the Chhath festival. When he returned on Friday morning, he found all the locks broken and discovered that valuable items, including six gold coins, ten gold earrings, four gold bracelets, six silver anklets, other gold jewellery, silver utensils, two gold biscuits, and Rs 5 lakh in cash, were stolen.

In a similar incident in PC Colony, Kankarbagh, thieves looted jewellery and cash worth approximately Rs 35 lakh from two flats. Dhirendra Kumar, a businessman from Nalanda, lives on rent in his relative Prabhat Sinha’s home in PC Colony. Thieves targeted both flats in the house, stealing jewellery worth over Rs 10 lakh and important land papers from Prabhat’s ground-floor flat, which remains locked as Prabhat is based in Rourkela. Dhirendra, who lives with his family on the first floor, plans to file a complaint upon his return to Patna. SHO Neeraj Kumar Thakur confirmed that the case is under investigation.

Another similar incident occurred at the home of Nagendra Kumar Tiwari, also known as Mahadev, on Road No. 9 in Mahavir Colony under the Rajiv Nagar police station area. Thieves stole jewellery valued at Rs 8 lakh and cash amounting to Rs 2.35 lakh. Nagendra and his family had also been away for Chhath when neighbours informed them of the broken locks and scattered belongings. Nagendra’s wife reportedly felt unwell after hearing the news, as the thieves had also taken valuables and clothes.

Police are currently investigating these thefts, which occurred while families were away for Chhath, leaving their homes vulnerable.
