Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, inspected the Krishi Bhawan in Patna on May 19. During the inspection, keeping in view the building’s energy requirements and the need for environmental conservation, he directed that solar energy-based solar panels be promptly installed on all rooftops within the Krishi Bhawan premises. The Chief Minister instructed that this task be completed on a priority basis and at an accelerated pace so that the state government’s commitment to green energy can be realised on the ground.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also instructed that the Chief Minister’s vision be fulfilled at the earliest.
Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agrawal said that, in light of the Chief Minister’s directive, the Agriculture Department has swiftly initiated the process of installing solar panels on all rooftops of the Krishi Bhawan premises. This task is being executed by the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA), which has assured that the installation of the solar panels will be completed within a week.
The secretary further mentioned that the installation of solar panels on the rooftops of all district and block-level agriculture offices will also be completed soon. The installation work is progressing rapidly. This is not only a significant step towards energy self-reliance but will also reduce dependency on conventional energy sources. He added that the initiative is a reflection of the state government’s foresight under its energy conservation policy.
Agrawal said that after the installation of the solar panels, uninterrupted power supply to Krishi Bhawan will be ensured. This will not only reduce electricity expenses but will also be effective in maintaining environmental balance in the long run. The use of solar energy will lead to a reduction in carbon emissions, thereby supporting the achievement of the state’s environmental goals. This is a significant step towards realising the vision of a “Green Bihar.” The initiative will not only strengthen environmental conservation but also encourage the development of alternative energy sources.
