Seeded Players Lead After Second Round of Bihar State Under-11 Chess Championship

Patna: After the completion of the second round of the Bihar State Under-11 Chess Championship, which commenced today at Hotel Diamond Inn, Gola Road, Patna, all the seeded players emerged as leaders, winning their respective matches. The tournament, organised by Megaminds Chess Club under the aegis of the All Bihar State Chess Association, saw strong performances from top contenders.

In the boys’ category, FIDE-rated players such as Ayush Raj, Suronay Das, Devansh Kesari, Rudra Veer Singh, Yuvan Raman, Aakarsh Anand, Yash Raman, and Ishaan were leading with two points each after two rounds.

Similarly, in the girls’ category, top-seeded players Ankita Raj, Mohini Pandit, RC Aatish, Dhanvi Karmakar, Vriti Vaibhav, Anya, Aaradhya Prakash, and Vaibhavi Vani were jointly leading with two points.

Earlier in the day, the tournament was inaugurated with a ceremony where Hotel Diamond Inn’s Managing Director, Sanjeet Saurav, and All Bihar Chess Association Secretary, Dharmendra Kumar, played a symbolic game of chess with the young participants. The event was attended by State Bank of India’s Manager, Jyoti Sinha, former Secretary of the All Bihar Chess Association, Ajit Kumar Singh, Senior Vice President Rajendra Kumar, Vice President Jaiprakash Singh, Joint Secretary Vipul Subhash, Shashi Nand Kumar, Iqbal Alam, Chief Arbiter of the competition Nand Kishore, Assistant Arbiter Alok Priyadarshi, and senior chess players Samir Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Himanshu Kumar, Vijay Kumar, and Priyanka Kumari, along with other distinguished guests.
