Patna: In the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Men’s Cricket Tournament, Bihar overcame an early setback to post 204 for four wickets at the close of the second day’s play against Maharashtra. Key contributions came from Satyam Kumar and Prithvi Raj, who both registered half-centuries.
The match, being played at the Chhatrapati Shivajinagar Stadium in Aurangabad, began late as the first day was washed out due to rain. Bihar, opting to bat after winning the toss on the second day, made a steady start but soon faltered, losing three wickets for just 13 runs.
Satyam Kumar and Prithvi Raj stabilised the innings with a vital 74-run partnership. After Prithvi departed for a well-crafted 52, Aditya Raj joined Satyam at the crease, adding an unbeaten 72-run stand. Satyam remains unbeaten on 55 off 145 balls, while Aditya Raj is not out on 41 off 72 balls.
Other contributors for Bihar included captain Mohammad Alam (19), Taufik (24), and Dipesh Gupta (5).
For Maharashtra, Anish Joshi led the bowling attack, picking up 2 wickets for 32 runs. Neeraj Joshi claimed 1 for 10, and Yogesh Chavan took 1 for 54.
With two days remaining, Bihar will aim to consolidate their position, while Maharashtra seeks to break the partnership and gain the upper hand in the match.
