Rising Star
Patna: Rising Star produced an all-round performance to defeat Adalatganj CC by seven wickets in a match of the Adhikari Madan Mohan Prasad Memorial Patna District Senior Division Cricket League, organised by the Patna District Cricket Association.
The match, played at the Genex Cricket Ground, saw Adalatganj CC opt to bat first after winning the toss. However, they made a cautious start and could manage only 174 for 7 in their allotted 40 overs—a total that was competitive but not imposing.
Shubham Singh top-scored for Adalatganj with a steady 44, while Sikander Fahad contributed 29. Navin Kumar remained unbeaten on 24, helping the side reach a respectable total. For Rising Star, Harshvardhan Pandey delivered an impressive spell, claiming 3 for 21 from eight overs, well supported by Sunny Samrat, who picked up two wickets and kept the scoring in check.
In reply, Rising Star came out with intent. Captain Gulshan Kumar led from the front with a commanding unbeaten 82, laced with 12 fours and a six, anchoring the chase with authority. Aman Raj added momentum with a brisk 50, while Agastya Anand chipped in with a useful 19. The target was overhauled in just 23.1 overs for the loss of three wickets, underlining Rising Star’s batting depth.
For Adalatganj CC, Navin Kumar, Vivek Kumar and Saurabh Kumar claimed a wicket apiece, but the effort proved insufficient to halt the opposition’s march to victory.
