Patna: The 14th Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Saharsa, is taking place at the MLT College ground in Saharsa.
In the first semi-final, Purnia triumphed over Buxar with a 2-1 win, securing their place in the final. Anisha Kumari gave Buxar an early lead by scoring from a penalty corner in the 19th minute. However, Purnia’s Fancy Khatun turned the match around with two crucial goals, netting in the 36th and 57th minutes, ensuring her team advanced to the final.
In the second semi-final, Patna delivered a commanding 6-0 victory over Siwan. Khushi Kumari set the pace with a goal in the 5th minute, followed immediately by Siddhi scoring in the 6th minute. Sweta Kumari dominated the game, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 25th, 34th, and 39th minutes. Rishu Kumari completed the rout by scoring from a penalty corner in the 59th minute.
Purnia and Patna will now compete for the championship title in the final.
