Purnia, May 11, 2024: Purnia secured a convincing win over Araria by four wickets in the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament, organized by the Bihar Cricket Association at the local Green Valley Gulabbagh on Saturday. With this match, the league matches of the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament concluded.
Purnia’s team, competing in Pool F, maintained their position at the top of the standings. Katihar’s team secured second place, followed by Madhepura in third. Supaul finished fourth, while Araria and Kishanganj finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Araria’s captain, Shravan Kumar, led his team to a total of 139 runs, losing all their wickets in 45 overs. Adarsh Sinha top-scored with 26 runs, supported by contributions from Samrat Rai (21 runs), Ujjwal Kumar (19 runs), and an unbeaten 17 runs from Uttam.
Purnia’s bowling attack proved effective, with Vachaspati claiming 2 wickets for 18 runs in 7 overs, Vishal securing 3 wickets, Bhaskar Dubey taking 2 wickets, and Aamir Masood and Satyam Singh each capturing 1 wicket.
