Patna, May 12: As Sunday evening descended, the streets of Patna reverberated with chants of “Modi-Modi”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, having concluded four election meetings earlier in the day, conducted a roadshow in the evening. Starting from Bhattacharya Road at 7:21 pm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s procession covered a distance of approximately two kilometers, traversing through Kadamkuan and Thakurbari before reaching Udyog Bhawan.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow, marking a historic moment for Bihar as people displayed immense excitement at witnessing a Prime Minister’s roadshow in the streets of Patna. During the event, Prime Minister Modi, adorned in a yellow kurta and scarf, acknowledged the greetings of the crowd lining the streets by raising both hands. A diverse gathering including children, women, elderly, and youth, adorned in traditional attire and holding posters bearing Modi’s name, thronged the streets to welcome the Prime Minister.
Accompanying the Prime Minister’s vehicle were Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP candidate from Patna Saheb Lok Sabha seat Ravi Shankar Prasad, and BJP state president Samrat Chaudhary. Ravi Shankar Prasad wore a cap and held a Lotus poster, while Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reciprocated the greetings of the people with raised hands. The roads of the capital were barricaded from both sides, starting from Raj Bhavan, due to the Prime Minister’s roadshow.
The Prime Minister’s convoy departed from the airport precisely at 7:00 pm, traversing Bailey Road to reach Bhattacharya Road. The roadshow formally commenced from Bhattacharya Road, where flowers were showered on Prime Minister Modi amidst tight security. Despite the stringent security measures, a large number of Patna residents thronged the streets, eager to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. The chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai” resonated in the air, with even Muslim women seen on the roads to witness PM Modi.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad, and BJP state president Samrat Chaudhary accompanied the Prime Minister’s vehicle during the roadshow. Before the roadshow commenced, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey were present on the temporary stage set up on Bhattacharya Road, awaiting the Prime Minister’s arrival.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, en route to the roadshow, passed Bailey Road’s prominent turn at exactly 7:10 pm, triggering enthusiastic cheers from the awaiting crowd. Following the roadshow, the Prime Minister headed directly to Raj Bhavan, where he would spend the night. On Monday morning, he would visit Takht Harmandir Saheb in Patna Saheb to offer prayers before embarking on a road journey to Saran, Vaishali, and Hajipur Lok Sabha constituencies via helicopter to campaign for NDA candidates.
After concluding his election campaign on Monday evening, the Prime Minister will travel to Varanasi via Gaya, where another roadshow awaits him. He is scheduled to file his nomination form in Varanasi on Tuesday.
