Shasheem Rathore of PESU receives man of the match award

Patna: In the Adhikari Madan Mohan Prasad Memorial Patna Senior Division Cricket League, organised by the Patna District Cricket Association, PESU registered an emphatic six-wicket victory over Panchsheel CC in Thursday’s fixture. Shasheem Rathore, who scored a brisk 56 and claimed one wicket, was adjudged Player of the Match. Meanwhile, KNCC were awarded a walkover against Secretariat Sports.
At the local Urja Stadium, Panchsheel CC opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted 184 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 40 overs. In reply, PESU chased down the target comfortably, reaching 188 for four in just 26.4 overs.
Batting first, Panchsheel CC had a shaky start but recovered through a solid knock of 61 by Anirudh Raj, supported by Bittu Kumar (46) and Abhishek Kumar (32). Ayush Raj added an unbeaten 17 towards the end to help the side to a respectable total.
For PESU, Abhijeet Saket impressed with the ball, picking up three wickets for 38 runs, while Harsh Raj claimed two for 34. Shasheem Rathore and Rahul Rathore chipped in with one wicket each.
Chasing 185, PESU made an aggressive start. Shasheem Rathore led the charge with a blistering 56 off just 27 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. Captain Rajesh Kumar Sinha contributed a valuable 47, while Babul Kumar added 33 runs. Pankaj Kumar (13 not out) and Priyanshu (16 not out) then guided the team home, sealing victory in 26.4 overs.
