Patna: Patna is buzzing with preparations for New Year 2025, as popular attractions such as Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park (Patna Zoo), Eco Park, and other city parks gear up to welcome large crowds. Other notable destinations, including the Bihar Museum, JP Gangapath, Sabhyata Dwar, Sri Krishna Science Centre, and the Planetarium, are also expecting a surge in visitors.
Enhanced Security and Additional Staff in Parks
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, Eco Park will be monitored via CCTV cameras, with 206 additional personnel deployed. Patna Zoo has assigned 101 extra staff, while Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park, Naveen Sinha Park, and Punaichak Park will have 50, 30, and 25 additional personnel, respectively.
On 1 January, Eco Park will operate six ticket counters, including three additional ones, to manage the expected 30,000 visitors. Ticket prices for the day are set at ₹50 and ₹25. Boating activities will remain suspended, and staff will be stationed near the lake to prevent accidents.
Patna Zoo will also open additional ticket counters—six at Gate 1 and four at Gate 2. Tickets for the day will cost ₹100 for adults and ₹50 for children. Special attractions include a water park and a small cat enclosure. Ambulances and district medical officers will be stationed for emergencies, and battery-operated vehicles will be available for urgent use.
JP Gangapath: A New Favourite for Celebrations
JP Gangapath has become a popular New Year destination, offering free entry and no time restrictions. The area features food stalls, entertainment for children, and ample parking facilities. Security will be heightened with additional police deployment and dial 112 services available throughout the day.
Bihar Museum: Welcoming Visitors with Additional Facilities
The Bihar Museum will maintain its standard ticket prices of ₹100 for adults and ₹50 for children. School groups with official letters will receive discounted tickets at ₹25. To manage the crowds, four additional ticket counters and 30 extra guards will be on duty, along with over 100 staff members.
Special Arrangements at Temples
Mahavir Mandir at Patna Junction will open at 5 am on New Year’s Day. Separate queues for men and women will be arranged, and 20,000 kilograms of Naivedyam will be prepared by 70 artisans from Tirupati. Six priests from Ayodhya will perform special rituals, and 120 policemen will ensure security.
ISKCON Mandir on Buddha Marg will open at 4:30 am, with darshan available until 9 pm. After the 4:30 am Puja Aarti, Mahaprasad will be distributed to around one lakh devotees. The temple will close from 1 pm to 4 pm for preparations.
