Patna: Patna secured the overall title at the fourth Bihar State Cadet, Sub Junior, Junior, and Senior Grappling Wrestling Championship held on Sunday at Radhakrishna Mandir, Barh, Patna, under the auspices of the Bihar Grappling Wrestling Association. East Champaran claimed second place, while Vaishali secured third.
In the key final matches held today, Juleshwar Kumar of Patna triumphed over Amit Kumar of Darbhanga, winning 6-4 in the 58 kg boys’ weight category. Saurabh Kumar of Patna defeated Vikas of East Champaran by a margin of 7-5 points in the 50 kg weight category. Sunny Kumar of Patna overcame Manish Kumar of Saran with a score of 5-3.
In the 50 kg women’s category, national wrestler Aanchal Kushwaha of Patna bested Roshni Kumari of Saran by 6-4 points, while Priyanka Kumari of Patna claimed victory against Ashika Kumari of Vaishali with an 8-6 point finish, securing gold medals.
The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by the organising president and social worker, Karnaveer Singh Yadav alias Lallu Mukhiya, along with retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Dasrath Pehlwan, Jagan Pehlwan, Vice President of the District Association Ramanuj Singh Pehlwan, PACS President Satyendra Yadav, Lalan Yadav, and Advocate Naval Yadav. The event was also attended by the General Secretary of the Bihar Grappling Wrestling Association, Gouri Shankar, District Association Secretary Satish Kumar, Technical Director Deepak Singh Kashyap, Vinod Kumar Jaiswal, Ranveer Yadav, Manish Kumar Singh, Technical Officer Ravish Kumar, Vireish Kumar, Vinod Kumar Dhoni, Randhir Kumar, and many other sports enthusiasts.
