Patna: Patna residents will soon have a more convenient and eco-friendly way to travel around the city. City buses, both CNG and electric, will commence operations on Atal Path and Ganga Path from this month. These buses will run daily between Kangan Ghat and R Block, providing a much-needed boost to public transportation in the city.

To facilitate the operation of buses on these routes, new routes have been determined. Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agrawal announced that city buses would start operating on these routes within 15 days. Notably, these routes connect Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) and other major hospitals, making it easier for residents to access healthcare facilities.

The introduction of city buses on these routes is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce travel time to hospitals, particularly during emergencies. Moreover, these buses are fully electric, making the journey completely pollution-free.

By operating city buses on Atal Path and Ganga Path, the Transport Secretary aims to improve the overall traffic flow in Patna city and make commuting more convenient for residents. Passengers travelling between Kangan Ghat and R Block will also be treated to scenic views of Marine Drive.

The department’s goal is to provide accessible, efficient, and safe transportation services to all citizens. The new bus routes are expected to reduce reliance on private vehicles, thereby mitigating traffic congestion and road accidents. This will not only save time for commuters but also enhance traffic management in the city.

The operation of buses on Atal Path will significantly benefit residents of various areas in Patna city, especially those who rely on public transport for daily commuting. Short-distance travellers will also find these services convenient due to the improved connectivity.

Tourists visiting Patna will also benefit from these routes, as they connect Ganga Ghats, Gandhi Maidan, and other historical and tourist attractions. This initiative is expected to boost tourism and strengthen the local economy.
