Patna: Several trains operating under the Danapur Railway Division will be cancelled from 1st December 2024 to 28th February 2025 due to safety concerns arising from fog during the winter months. Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra announced the cancellations, with prominent services such as the Veerangana Laxmi Bai Express being cancelled from 6th December to 10th January.
Other key cancellations include:
- Train 15621 Kamakhya Anand Vihar Express: Cancelled from 5th December to 27th February.
- Malda Town New Delhi Express: Cancelled from 3rd December to 1st March.
- Howrah Dehradun Upasana Express: Cancelled from 3rd December to 28th February.
Additionally, the frequency of some trains has been reduced:
- Ajmer Sealdah Express will now be cancelled every Tuesday and Saturday.
- Train 12987 Sealdah Ajmer Express will be cancelled every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
- Train 125 Kamakhya Anand Vihar North East Express: Cancelled every Sunday and Wednesday.
- Train 1256 Anand Vihar Kamakhya North East Express: Cancelled every Tuesday and Friday.
- Train 15483 Alipurduar- Delhi Sikkim Mahananda Express: Cancelled every Wednesday and Saturday.
- Train 15484 Delhi -Alipurduar Mahananda Express: Cancelled every Friday and Monday.
- Train 22405 Bhagalpur Anand Vihar Garib Rath Express: Cancelled every Thursday.
- Train 22406 Anand Vihar Bhagalpur Garib Rath Express: Cancelled every Wednesday.
Furthermore, Train 14617 Purnia Court-Amritsar Janseva Express, running daily between Purnia and Amritsar, will be cancelled from 3rd December 2024 to 2nd March 2025.
In total, the operation of 24 trains within the East Central Railway’s divisional areas has been affected due to the fog. Some services have been partially cancelled or have had their operations reduced to ensure safe rail travel during the foggy season, according to Saraswati Chandra.
