Patna: Nitish Kumar, National President of the Janata Dal (United), visited the ancestral residence of state party president Umesh Singh Kushwaha at Kajri Buzurg village under Jandaha on Tuesday. He was warmly received with a bouquet by the state chief.
During the visit, Nitish Kumar planted a sapling, conveying a strong message on environmental protection and a greener Bihar. He also interacted with local party officials, workers and leaders, offering key guidance on strengthening the organisation.
Addressing the gathering, Nitish Kumar said Bihar has witnessed all-round development since 2005. He highlighted progress in education, healthcare, roads, electricity, irrigation and women’s empowerment, adding that the state has built a new identity in these sectors. He expressed confidence that the development momentum under the NDA government would continue and that Bihar would soon rank among the top five developed states in the country.

Kushwaha, in his remarks, said the visit of Nitish Kumar to the sacred land of Mahanar—associated with Baba Bateshwar Nath, Baba Ganinath and Khaki Baba—was a matter of pride and celebration for the region. He described Nitish Kumar as a source of inspiration, energy and confidence for lakhs of party workers, noting that his presence boosts their morale and determination.

Among those present were Legislative Council Deputy Leader of the ruling party Lalan Kumar Sarraf, Chief Whip Sanjay Kumar Singh (also known as Gandhi Ji), MLAs Siddharth Patel and Mahendra Ram, Vaishali district president Subhash Chandra Singh, Assembly in-charge Shambhu Kushwaha, along with several senior leaders and party workers.
