Patna: Hyderabad’s Nitin Sai showcased an outstanding bowling display, leading his team to a dominant position against Bihar in the multi-day CK Nayudu Trophy match at Moinul Haq Stadium on Monday. Nitin took six wickets in the first innings, limiting Bihar to 150 runs. Following on, he claimed another six wickets in the second innings, leaving Bihar on the verge of an innings defeat.
Bihar, starting the day at 20 for two, collapsed to 150 all out in their first innings. Shashank Upadhyay top-scored with 46, followed by Pawan Rai with 31, Aditya Kumar with 22, Akash Verma with 14, and Manish Kumar remaining not out on 15. For Hyderabad, Nitin Sai took 6 for 54, while Pranav Verma secured three wickets, and Inliyan grabbed one.
Facing a deficit of 199 runs, Bihar was forced to follow on and ended the day at 131 for eight. Opener Akash Verma was dismissed for a duck, while Animesh Kumar scored 42, Arnav Kishore added 35, and Suraj Kashyap contributed 26. Shashank Upadhyay remained unbeaten on 16, with Anup not out on one. Nitin Sai’s six-wicket haul was complemented by Pranav and Ruthik, who took one wicket each.
