Patna: The new collectorate building in Patna  is expected to be ready by Diwali. Once completed, all the offices of the district administration will be consolidated under one roof. Currently, due to the offices being spread across various locations, residents face difficulties navigating between them.

On Monday, District Magistrate (DM) Dr Chandrashekhar Singh reviewed the progress of the construction work. He provided essential instructions regarding floor-wise and block-wise entry and exit control, emergency situations, and other security and emergency arrangements. The DM stated that the work is proceeding rapidly.

The building’s executive engineer reported that the final touches are being applied, with furnishing, fitting, and furniture installation underway. The construction is scheduled for completion by 31st October. Signage will be placed on every floor of the new building.

The new collectorate will feature five floors, in addition to a basement and ground floor, housing 39 departments in the main building. Besides the central collectorate building, the campus includes two additional blocks: the SDO and DDC block, the Zila Parishad office, and a multi-purpose building block. The SDO and DDC blocks will have four floors each, along with a basement and ground floor. Each department will have separate entrances.

The campus also includes a central green public plaza, underground and open parking, and an earthquake-resistant design equipped with a centralised air conditioning system based on VRV technology. Additional facilities will include a canteen and a bank. The collectorate building will be monitored using state-of-the-art technology based on advanced security protocols.
