Mukesh Sahni Calls Father’s Murder a ‘Black Day’ for Nishad Community

Patna: Jitan Sahni, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief and former Bihar minister Mukesh Sahni, was murdered on Tuesday. This tragic event has sparked a wave of criticism from the opposition towards the state government, questioning its efficacy and response.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha have expressed their condolences, promising swift action and assuring that the culprits will be apprehended soon. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the leadership of Darbhanga Rural SP Kamya Mishra. Two suspects have already been detained and are currently being questioned.

Following his father’s murder, Mukesh Sahni arrived in Patna with his family. Overwhelmed with grief, Sahni addressed the media, revealing that he had spoken with Home Minister Amit Shah, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Rashtriya Janata Dal National President Lalu Prasad Yadav. They assured him of their support and commitment to ensuring justice. Sahni has since traveled to Darbhanga.

Sahni stated, “I have received the information. I was outside. I have spoken to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the phone. He himself has taken cognizance of the incident. Everyone has said that we are with you. The government has assured that whoever is guilty will be arrested as soon as possible and action will be taken. Almost all the leaders of the country have talked to us on the phone.”

Mukesh Sahni also took to social media, describing the brutal murder of his father and expressing the profound sorrow it has caused his family. “My father has been brutally murdered by criminals. His blood is on the walls of our house. This incident is extremely unfortunate and unbearable for our entire family. Our soul is crying.”

He declared this day as a ‘Black Day’ for the Nishad community but emphasized that it will not deter them. He urged the Bihar government to expedite the investigation and ensure the harshest punishment for the culprits. The cremation will take place at Supaul Biraul market in Darbhanga district at 7 PM on Tuesday.

Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary released a video condemning the murder, calling it extremely unfortunate and promising swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice. “The police administration is working with full vigilance in this matter. The government stands with Mukesh Sahni’s family,” he said.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also expressed his condolences on social media, writing, “The mind is saddened to hear the news of the murder of Mukesh Sahni ji’s father. I pray to God to give the bereaved family the strength to bear this unbearable pain. In this hour of grief, the government is fully standing with Sahni ji’s family. This type of unfortunate incident is not forgivable under any circumstances. The Bihar government assures immediate identification of the culprits as well as strict action.”

This tragic incident has united political leaders in their call for justice and support for the grieving Sahni family.
