Patna, May 29, 2024: A major fire broke out at Surya Apartment on Fraser Road in Patna, prompting swift action from the fire brigade. While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, no casualties have been reported. The incident has sparked concerns among residents and officials alike.

The blaze, which originated in two flats on the 9th floor of Surya Apartment, quickly escalated despite the timely arrival of approximately 20 fire engines. Efforts to contain the fire continued late into the evening, with relief and rescue operations underway.

Local speculation suggests that a short circuit may have triggered the fire, although official confirmation is pending. Notably, this incident follows recent fires at Pal Hotel and Amrit Hotel in the Kotwali police station area, highlighting the urgent need for improved fire safety measures in the city.

Surya Apartment, located in a residential area opposite Doordarshan, houses the Vishwa Samvad Kendra and is adjacent to prominent establishments such as Maurya Hotel, Youth Hostel, and the residence of former Union Minister CP Thakur. Senior officials have arrived at the scene to assess the situation and ensure the safety of residents.

While the cause of the fire at Surya Apartment remains unclear, swift action from the fire brigade and timely evacuation efforts have prevented any loss of life. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and prompt emergency response in densely populated urban areas like Patna.
